FAQ

Common questions.

The things we get asked most. If yours isn't here, send us a message above.

Is YPHA a charity?
No. YPHA is an incorporated not-for-profit advocacy body. We don't run programs and we don't deliver services, we organise, advocate, and push for systemic change. Donations are not tax-deductible at this time.
Who can become a member?
Anyone who supports our mission. Members under 35 get a vote on our advocacy priorities. Allies of any age can join as supporting members. $50/year regardless.
What does YPHA stand for politically?
Practical, not partisan. We back what works on housing, wherever it comes from. We engage with all sides of politics and council, and we don't endorse parties.
Do you build houses?
No. We advocate for the conditions that let young people own one. Planning reform, prefab adoption, ground-lease models, finance access. The buildings are for builders.
Can I share my housing story?
Please do. Real stories are what move politicians. Use the form above or DM us, we'll talk before anything goes public, and you stay anonymous if you'd rather.
Are you on social media?
Yes. Facebook and Instagram, both linked in the footer. We post events, wins, and the occasional rant. We're not on TikTok yet.
